The University of British Columbia Occasional Papers in Linguistics (UBCOPL) is dedicated to publishing quality documentation of Pacific Northwest languages in a manner that is accessible to Indigenous speech communities as well as academic linguists. The organization takes its responsibility to accurately represent First Nations languages seriously and strives to maintain high production and editorial standards, while ensuring that all its publications are affordable and relevant to both scholarly and community audiences. The organization is committed to an open access model of publishing, posting its publications online for free download and entering into creative commons copyright agreements with First Nations partners.
